PHYSIOTHERAPY FOR POSTPARTUM RUNNING RESUMPTION
WHEN SHOULD I CONSULT A SPECIALIST?
If you gave birth recently (more than 6 weeks ago and up to a few years) and want to start running again or maybe try another impact sport
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SESSION ?
The session takes place at the Physio-Ostéo Globalité clinic. The physiotherapist begins by asking you about your health condition, your history of pregnancy and childbirth, your current and previous active habits, and your goals. The physiotherapist performs a functional physical assessment. Then, we set realistic goals together, and the therapist presents you with a running program adapted to an algorithm that considers all the assessed factors. The therapist teaches helpful running techniques, and if necessary, will suggest additional exercises based on your condition.
The therapist issues a receipt during the session for insurance or tax purposes.

Note: If you have symptoms of a perineal nature such as abdominopelvic pain or heaviness, urinary incontinence during exercise or daily life, grade 3 or 4 prolapse, or delivery less than 8 weeks ago (by caesarean section, with a grade 3 or 4 tear, or episiotomy), it is advisable to consult a perineal physiotherapy specialist first.
